Arjun Tendulkar (son of champion batsman Sachin Tendulkar), is expected to play for Goa next season

Goa Cricket Association secretary Vipul Phadke told The Indian Express that Arjun had communicated interest in playing for the state as an expert player for the impending season.

Arjun will be quick to dazzle the administration and make it into the side that will play the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in October in the not so distant future.

When Mumbai reached the Ranji Trophy final last season, Arjun was selected by the MCA Senior Selection Committee but did not get a single match. As a junior, the left pacemaker was left for the India U19 team, after which Mumbai India signed him from the Indian Premier League (IPL) club. However, Arjun hasn’t made it into MI playing XI yet.

In a statement, SRT Sports Management said: “At this stage in his career, it is important for Arjun to get maximum playing time on the pitch. We believe the changes will increase the chances of Arjun participating in a more competitive game. He is starting a new phase in his cricketing career.”
