Sources of Hindu Law | Ancient & Modern Sources | Family Law

Hello Everyone. In this video, we have discussed some important Sources and Schools of Hindu Law which everyone should know. Hindu law consists of all the activities and the crystallized practices that people have been following from time to time and therefore, making them customs. The foremost question is which among these customs are considered as our modern Hindu laws.
Our modern Hindu Laws are based on ancient sources like shrutis, smritis, digest and commentaries, customs and usages and on modern sources like legislations, equity and good conscience, judicial decisions. Our modern Hindu law based on the fundamentals of these sources have been codified into one and divided into four major Acts: Hindu Marriage Act, Hindu Succession Act, Hindu Adoption and Maintenance Act, Hindu Minority and Guardianship Act.
